My Bitty Boy,
You are not so bitty anymore.
You loooove to stand and you're getting more and more confident walking. It's your preferred method of transportation now :) You still walk like a little zombie baby most of the time (slowly, shakily, with both arms stretched out in front of you) but your balance is getting better and better and when you fall now, you can stand up on your own in the middle of the floor.
You "dance". You haven't really figured out that dancing involves your body or legs/feet, so you just wave your arms up and down when there's music on TV. It's precious.
Eeeeeeeeeverything is a drum- the bathtub, the floor, the coffee table, Mommy... You love to sneak Daddy's drumsticks and play on the whole house. You know to hold the sticks at the end and to shake them up and down, which is miraculous to me, and you always know where Daddy keeps them, which is a pain in the butt haha. If Daddy's music room door is open, it's like you have radar! You're off in a flash, honed in on the drums and drumsticks inside.
I haven't really heard any new words emerging, but given how much progress you're making with walking it's not surprising. You still have your tried and true "Mama", "Dada", "Dah-ee" (doggy), "Duh-ee" (ducky), and "Ba" (bath).
You still loooooooooove your bath. Lately you've been getting down on your tummy in the water and swishing around. Now and then you stick your face in the water, but it never fails- you come up coughing and sputtering every time. I assume at some point you'll realize you can't breathe down there... You also eat the bubbles when I put them in your bath, which looks disgusting, in fact you don't look like you enjoy them all that much either, but it's super cute and quite hilarious. Don't worry, I don't let you eat more than one handful or so.
You have been sick again this month. You kicked that first cold a month or so ago, but then got another one or allergies or who knows what and were congested for a week or so. THEN you spiked a fever three nights ago and the on-call nurse at the Dr.'s office said I should take you in to the emergency room. Scared me silly. You had quite a traumatic evening between all the poking and prodding and x-raying, but it turned out to be a mild case of pneumonia. They gave you an intramuscular shot of antibiotics and a prescription for an oral one that you've been taking every day since. Yesterday you were back to your old self :) Mama's very happy to see you back to your happy, giggly, energetic self.
You're still the biggest source of joy in your Daddy's and my life. We love you so much, Bub.
Guess I'd better get to planning that birthday party...
Love your heart for your little guy, and love you.
